Automating processes from quotation to production
Due to the growth of their paint shop, Alco was forced to automate certain production processes. Our team of specialists first conducted extensive research. With the help of Digimedio, they now work with a more efficient intake procedure and optimized planning.
About Alco
Alco is an industrial paint shop that offers galvanizing or electrolytic galvanizing of hanging and drum hardware, powder coating, and duplex coating. They also offer pretreatments such as blasting, paint stripping, degreasing, and more, and provide aftercare services such as packaging, assembly, and logistical support.
What we did
For the growing company Alco, it was necessary to automate certain production processes. We implemented the following:
- Automating quotation calculation
- Creating an intake procedure
- Optimizing the production route
Intake procedure
Product acceptance and inspection are handled in the Odoo program, which in turn controls production (planning). In this intake, we used a pre-selection procedure. Alco has approximately 500 different production procedures. Thanks to the implemented pre-selection process, Alco can easily make a pre-selection and arrive at the desired final production route.
Production route
To improve the efficiency of the production route, we’ve implemented several optimizations. For example, Odoo can now calculate the time worked on a certain number of previous production orders, optimizing future planning. This also allows Alco to better plan their machines (paint stations) based on, among other things, their colors.
